Merry xmas 12:13 PM

sis & i posing... we get too high after posing at every hotel we came to while walking on the strip of las vegas boulevard (the strip is where most of the casino-fied hotel are found in vegas)

The hotel i love most in vegas. But sorry i dun rmb the hotel name =s
sis playing with snow. This was the night at vegas when my mom's fren drove us up to the snow-capped mountain. its damn freezing. my feet and hands are numb with the cold, though i did wear gloves (2 in fact) and wear socks (2 too).
look at my mom! haha, her fren lent her the winter jacket and the hat. so funny! we had a long hard time laughing at her. actually there's one photo of my mom super hilarious, but i decided not to post it up. Ask me for it when you see me. keke...
so cold already, yet we still sitting on the snow. Wet butts thereafter.
haha, even aunties join in the fun. The one in the middle is my mom's sec fren. old frens liao. She's staying in vegas, with her daughter.
me and another of my mom's fren. who is on this road trip with us. She's actually my bro's pri sch fren mom. haha. known her for the past 10+ yrs. We are at level 108 at one of vegas hotel - stratosphere. See the long strip? That's the vegas strip im talking about.
my mom's fren (beside m mom) treated us to a lunch when we arrived at vegas. The girl next to her is her daughter. She's our age. doesnt seem like it right? initially i thought its my sis age.
another cold cold night at vegas. Went to fermont street. vegas is really a hard core gambling place. even the area outside the toilets have jackpot machines can. i will not find it surprisingly if i happen to see one of the machine in the toilet itself.
Us at my mom's fren house at vegas. Her house is very nice too. very different concept as singapore's landed property houses. My mom's fren is a very interesting person. haha. She brought out a lot of xmas decors from different corners of the house and placed them in the living room where we all gathered for some xmas-look-alike pictures. haha.
mom and her fren. That night she stayed over at her fren's house and talked till dawn. haha, old frens reminiscing bout the past, present and future. heart-warming eh.
her house is actually much bigger. sorry for the same background. seeing mom fren leads such much-slower pace life really makes you want to migrate! shopping is cheaper and thriller - there are times when you hit a mall and manage to get really good deals at very much discounted prices. You get to own cars at much affordable rates, houses are bigger and there is so much land spaces! whenever we hit the roads from one place to another, my mom will always sigh and praise SM lee - how he manage to build up our homeland when our tiny island has absolutely nothing, i.e. no land nor any natural resources.
*wanted to post some tuscon pics (the house where my bro is staying is quite nice and cosy and surprisingly, tidy! haha) but blogger has some problems. shitty shit. waste my time. shall post more next time~

Merry xmas! hows xmas celebration back at singapore? Im at tuscon, arizona now. It's our 2nd night here at my bro's house. Xmas at tuscon is so quiet. we were initially told that there will be a xmas party at my bro's fren house - where all the air force squard at his air base will be invited, but in the end the party was postponed to new year's party.

Anyway, back to xmas eve at tuscon. the streets were very quiet and human-less. its so different from singapore. i can imagine orchard roads sardine-packed scenerio. actually its nto only orchard road, i know. but here its totally different. there are cars on the streets but its very smooth flowing. most of the resturants are closed too - we had a had time finding a place for dinner just now. Its a different xmas mood altogether here in america. There are lesser xmas decors and lightings, whereas in singapore we have a lot of them. But many of the americans' houses are lighted with those colourful lightings and decors, which most of our singaporean houses lack.

Sis and my bro went for a movie, while i accompanied my mom back to my bro's place. So here im blogging. although we have been here for approx 10 days, i have yet to see falling snow! =( but i did see snow on the ground when my mom's fren drove us up to las vegas charleston mountain - the snow-capped mountain. Shall let the pictures tell the story later.

Talking about las vegas - its wonderful. haha, sorry vocab limited lar. i spent most of my money there (needless to say, my LA funds are left with 40+ USD - how to survive??!?!??!). i did not spend my money on gambling - i simply find no urge to gamble, although the minute u step into any hotel, the lobby is always the gambling section - i still find no urge to exchange my money to chips and gamble. so where do i spend my money? - haha all in shopping lo. actually its not me alone; my sis bought 1 year (no, shd be 2 yrs) worth of clothes supply, my mom bought a lot too - for herself, dad, lil bro, relatives etc, my bro, my mom's fren and of course myself.

Before stepping into usa, i always thought that bangkok, tw and hk are shopping paradises. esp bangkok. but trust me, las vegas is the ultimate shopping paradise. why? coz u can get branded stuffs here at very much lower prices. Brands such as armani exchange, coach, clarke, liz clarbonie, gap, fossil, banana republic, tommy hilfiger, abercromie& fitch, nine west, holister, american eagers outfitters, ralph lauren etc -they are really cheap here. i mean if you compare the prices here with singapore's - they are easily cheaper by two/three folds. There was a pt in time where i keep questioning myself and sis, mom, bro whether these things we are buying are fake goods not, coz the prices are really unbelivable (for eg, i bought a AX jeans for usd 30). But it doesnt seem like it, coz they are the brands boutique shop - just that they are found in an factory outlet mall.

las vegas is truly a shopping paradise. in all, we spent 5 days 4 nights in las vegas and everyday was shopping day. haha, not only the factory outlets, even the mega supermarkets sell all kinds of things - from wet food to dry food, to clothes, to perfumes, to make-ups, to skincare to electronic stuffs etc. Then at night, we went to walk around las vegas- the hotels are so grand and of course casino-fied.

after the first 10 days (5 days each at san francisco and las vegas), its hard to decide which city i like best. coz they are so different in nature. SF is sightseeing - alcartraz (an island not far from SF where it used to keep prisoners), fisherman's wharf, chinatown, nob hill, union street, twin peaks etc. While las vegas is a spender's turf - whether you're there for gambling or shopping.

Will be staying in tuscon for another 2 days and 1 night, before heading to LA. Miss you guys and miss singapore too! Till then~
