what i like MOST about cny is not receiving hong baos...neither is the gathering of relativees, nor the very very delicious food...but...its the simple act and well wishes of everyone, even strangers. for example, these few days if u go around the streets to get cny goodies, you will hear phrases like "happy new year to you". yes, its a simple 4-5 words but it brings warmth to you. for once, u have something in common with strangers and that is wishing one and all a happy new year to come.

yestereday after my tuition, i wished my tutee and his parents happy new year; the other day after i did my mani and pedi, i wished the manicurist the same thing; and also to the lady who did my eyebows. just now when i went to get some cny goodies shopping done, i stopped by sweet talk and again exchanged greetings with the shop owner. i never get tired saying the same thing all over again and i think the strangest too. haha.

hmm, that kind of feeling i like.
